Guten tag!

We’re back from Cologne, Germany and Gamescom 2015! A thoroughly impressive show, its scale is unrivaled and it was great to be a part of it.

Gamescom was big for Treyarch and we have you to thank for it – thank you to everyone that showed up to learn more about our eSports/competitive agenda, get hands-on with Black Ops 3 multiplayer and to learn more about the PC version of the game. And thank you to everyone that tuned in virtually for our eSports livestream with ESL.

Here’s a bit of a recap of the week:

  • eSports Reveal (ESL Livestream): On Wednesday evening, our Studio Design Director, David Vonderhaar took the stage to share with the world more about Treyarch’s competitive eSports agenda for Black Ops 3. Vonderhaar unveiled information about Arena, Bans & Protects, the Specialist Draft, changes to CODcaster mode and information regarding spectator features. If you missed it the first time and want to catch it again, you can find more information in our blog post here, or in this VOD here.
  • Multiplayer Hands-On: We had 96 stations at the PlayStation booth and a line that queued for hours where attendees were able to get their hands on the game for the first time. Additionally, we had multiplayer on the PC running on some pretty awesome rigs at the NVIDIA booth. All in all, over the course of four days, tens of thousands of fans moved through the queue to play – it was amazing.
  • PC: Last week – in addition to offering PC hands-on multiplayer in the NVIDIA booth – our Director of Development/PC Platform Lead, Cesar Stastny began sharing more information about the PC version of the game. Whether you’re looking for more information about 100% ranked dedicated servers, PC specific game features, or details bout our dedicated PC team, you can find a complete rundown of what we’ve got in store (so far), by checking us out here.
  • Campaign Story: Last week, our Game Director/Campaign, Jason Blundell began to share more detail around the ambitious Black Ops 3 story. Be on the lookout for coverage about what you can expect in November.

It was great to share so many different parts of the game with so many people – thank you for being a part of it.

Auf wiedersehen!
