Continuing from Kevin's "possible upcoming tournament" idea

New maps (for the tournament)

As some of you may already know, [uU]stlmokevin will be hosting a tournament on the /UU/ ZAM servers. You can read about that here: http://undeaduprising.net/new/index.php?/topic/3408-possible-upcoming-tournament/#entry19231

 

I will be monitoring the servers and looking for the "most creative campers" (2nd category). The player with the best idea will most likely win a prize.

 

I do, however, have one more idea. I have talked to Classixz and Kevin about an idea I had for the duration of this tournament, to make it funner and more entertaining for all of us all-together, and this is what I came up with:

 

My idea is to open up all OP camping spots (making them harder to cover), and block off all of the most OP spots and glitch spots. This would encourage team-work and more creative survival amongst the survivors. On another note, this also means that the maps can be considered as "open" (many more entrances will now be opened up). And - obviously - this means that the normal map layouts would return after the tournament is over (unless the staff and/or players want these to stay).

I already have the codes for all of the maps, edited and lined up, meaning that all I have to do is send them to Classixz and all he has to do is just add them into the mod prior to the beginning of the tournament and then remove them once it is over (or, like I said, keep them if chosen so).

 

What do you guys think? Do you want the current maps to stay, or would you like to give these maps a shot, and see how things turn out? Keep in mind that this tournament only lasts for 3 days (the 29th, 30th and 31st of August).

I appreciate the time you took to create these, Ramsy. You've been extremely helpful these past few weeks, and it's very much appreciated. 

 

Personally, I really like them. If it's cool with the ZAM community and Classixz, it's definitely cool with me.

Well, here are my opinions on these spots. Let's start off on Array. I didn't like the old map on Array (the big map) because there seemed to be very few spots, and then I really wanted to have new spots on Array, but I couldn't do so because Classixz displayed the small maps. After reading that we will bring back the old array it made me think we are entered 1.4 all over again. As for Cracked, the first spot seems too over powered for the zombies and not really for the humans just because not that many people camp in that room, and if that gets displayed people might not camp at that spot and either camp on the old spots either the bus, the C2 room, the D4 spot, that small room in the C3 area (where you made it 2 entrances , and maybe the E3 spot. As for the second spot, I really like it because it may seem hard to do the Cade Limb glitch from the back, but it's a great spot that many people love to camp at. As for Crisis, there aren't that many spots to camp at since it's old and there aren't that many news spots displayed. As for the tank spot, 3 entrances may seem a little over powered because you would need about 4-5 people to camp there and possibly have a lot of points to cade there since the back is open. As for Firing Range, the tower seems like an easy spot to camp even if the ladder is open because if you know how to cade up there, there's a chance that the survivors may become over powered but not the zombies, since 1. They probably don't know how to do the Cade Limb glitch properly, and 2. It may seem hard to limb the survivors. It depends how the survivors cade up there. Grid seems fine as it is since there are many new/old spots. By new/old spots I mean if you are those people that have played our mod for quite a while you would remember these spots but if you are new these spots were some-what famous back in the day. As for Hanoi, I would leave it as it is. I have some ideas myself for this map hopefully by tomorrow I will have some new spots displayed on there if you guys like them. On Havana, there are 2 spots that I am concerned about. It's the 2nd and 3rd spot. The reason being is because the survivors are going to have to cade the window which then will be really hard unless you have 3-5 people in there to help out. I seem to like the 1st spot seem it seems really easy to cade there. Jungle seems like an okay map if you remove the Rock/cliff spot which you did, possibly remove the B4 spot since it's a boring spot and all the survivors got to do is just P.Cade it and T.Cade it. That's all I would suggest for Jungle. On launch, the 1st and 2nd spot I am concerned about. On the 1st spot you displayed it seems really old, and may seem hard to cade up there since it's 2 ways. Not to be rude, but I have ONE concern. That concern is after previewing all your spots, some of them were spots back on 1.3-1.4 which were cool spots to most of us back in those days, but now since it's 1.6, these spots returned, and it seems really boring/old to those that have played the mod a very long time ago. As I said I will do those maps that I personally think need improvement to make it a cooler map to others.
